Val Soana is located on the southern slope of the Gran Paradiso range. It is crossed all through by the river Soana. In the valley there are a few small alpine lakes, the main one being Lago Lasin. The valley is characterized by its lush vegetation, while in the villages you can still hear the patois, a typical Franco-Provençal dialect and still meet some people who wear their typical costume all year round.
