Val Vogna is a lateral valley of the Valsesia and is crossed by the river Vogna. Val Vogna used to be the most functional way to pass from Valsesia to the Gressoney Valley.
Just above the hamlet of Riva Valdobbia and reachable by car, you arrive in the heart of Val Vogna where, at 1381 meters above sea level, there is the hospitable Rifugio Sant'Antonio; an ancient, warm and welcoming structure which, just like a virtual door to Eden, introduces the visitor to an ancient and timeless atmosphere.
Between the refuge and the ancient S. Antonio Abate oratory next to it, in the direction of the Val d'Aosta, a series of routes continue, all immersed in a natural, simple and genuine environment, a right choice for those who want to leave behind daily life of the city.
The hamlet of Sant'Antonio was formerly called "Case di sotto" and is considered the "capital" of Val Vogna
In the territory of the community of Alagna Valsesia Fraction Sant'Antonio is located the stopover Refuge Sant?antonio in the Val Vogna 1.381 m.
Typical mountain dishes such as: local cured meats and cheeses accompanied by own-produced compotes and pickles, typical "Masarai" soup, homemade pasta, polenta with Valsesian meats, game, tanning polenta and desserts all rigorously homemade.
Road open to traffic from Varallo (35 km) for Riva Valdobbia, Cà di Janzo and Cà Morca.
