Ronco Canavese – Campiglia Soana

Ronco 948 m – Nivolastro 1429 m  – Andorina 1453 m   – Chiesale 1200m – Campiglia Soana m 1.352

Short transfer stage which however allows you to get to know the upper Val Soana, of which you cover a part of the valley floor, passing upstream of Valprato Soana and villages dominated by beech and coniferous woods.

From Ronco, in the home for the elderly area, follow the signs for Nivolastro and you find yourself on the mule track that climbs steeply into the larch and spruce forest, initially along the Rio and then on rocky crags. Then cross the hamlet of Nivolastro (1429 m) in a northerly direction until you meet the path which, on the right, descends to the hamlet of Chiapetto, (ignore it) and keep left, continue through the woods, initially uphill and then downhill to the stream Chiapetto where, having gone up the opposite bank, you reach the hamlet of Andorina (1453 m), abandoned, overhanging the main valley. From the hamlet, the path descends steeply to the provincial road, where it is reached after a few hundred meters on asphalt, take the fork on the right, cross the bridge and reach the hamlet of Chiesale (1200 m). From Chiesale, trail 628 develops along the steep left orographic side of the Campiglia Valley, through majestic beech woods. You reach the small Campiglia basin, with a view over the upper Campiglia valley, towards the Azaria plain. Here you descend slightly and with a footbridge over the Campiglia stream you reach the hamlet of Campiglia and the stopover.
