Valchiusella stretches over about 25 kilometres in the Graian Alps, on the limit between the province of Torino and the Valle d'Aosta. The valley is crossed by the river Chiusella, of the same name. Valchiusella offers an extraordinary variety of natural landscapes and proofs of human activity.

In the hamlet of Fondo where the road that crosses the Valchiusella finishes and only continues with a dirt road that leads to the higher communities and to Tallono in particular, is located the stopover of Fondo 1.074 m.
