Valle Stura is marked in the whole of its territory by the Stura river, that pours out of lago della Maddalena. The valley starts with gentle slopes in the first part, and is more rugged and typically alpine in the upper part. The original charm of the valley is constituted by its ancient alpine houses.

In this area is located the stopover Rifugio Talarico 1.712 m, municipality of Pietraporzio.
